Prior to commencing life in the NHS, Ruth served 12 years as a communications specialist for a variety of US public service organisations. Ruth’s NHS career continues her focus on service. She feels a close affinity with the values of Compassionate Leadership and is an improvement professional through and through. Currently, a Senior Project Manager working within HUTH’s Improvement Programme and an Honorary Lecturer in Quality Improvement at the Hull York Medical School, Ruth has a passion for patient safety. She is deeply committed to realising our promises for an equal, fair and inclusive society that values the gifts of diversity. Ruth understands how living those values directly benefits patients and wider society. Ruth believes those core values are the necessary conditions by which creativity, learning and innovation can thrive. By empowering staff voices true and authentic patient advocacy can be achieved.
