Matt has been in the NHS for 8 years working in a variety of HR and OD roles. At Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHFT) since 2014, Matt combined the roles of Freedom to speak up (FTSU) guardian and Staff engagement lead to improve staff experience and engagement. During this time the Trust has seen a 19% increase in recommendation as a place to work and were placed 3rd nationally of all Trusts in the FTSU index in 2020. The Trust won the HSJ Staff engagement award in 2019 and were highly commended in the HSJ Freedom to speak up organisation of the year 2019, and are shortlisted for this award again.
In February 2021, Matt joined Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as the Head of Culture; a new role to lead the organisation’s delivery of the NHS People Plan.
